Gallop on the Southbank
2007
How humans represent horses has a radical way of altering the perception of place and self. Diana's work explores how horses mediate identities and landscapes and become icons onto which we project our dreams, fears, illusions and identities. Over two years ago she reached a critical understanding about where her art practice is situated. Realising that her relationship with horses is a crucial part of her identity, she began to explore, through performance, the awkward and funny tensions between the human and the horse. Her practice is an ongoing investigation which attempts to push beyond the given interactions and relationships we have with animals.
