Siobhan Wanklyn is a London-based moving-image artist. Her practice incorporates film, video, sound and installation to explore the possibilities of Shklovsky's theory of ostranenie; making the viewer see familiar things in a strange and unusual way in order to reveal new aspects of the everyday. By abstracting known objects or histories to create alternative or imaginary manifestations, she contemplates the transformation of our presence in the world.

Siobhan graduated in 2007 with BA (Hons) Fine Art from Byam Shaw School of Art at Central Saint Martins College, London. She has participated in shows in the UK and internationally including: Another Roadside Attraction, Camden Arts Centre, temporaryContemporary Gallery, 176 Gallery, Dislocation Festival, This Is Not A Gateway Festival and Arsenal Gallery. Siobhan co-directs the film production company Sensorium Pictures. She has directed A Well Defined Stench, a 30-minute psychological thriller, and produced Direction Burghill, a short film made by young people in Herefordshire, funded by Hereford Youth Council.
