at Folkestone Fringe, Lorry Driver's Lounge, Folkestone Harbour.

The exhibition reflects upon the influence of garden and landscape design conventions on the contemporary townscape and the architecture of vision.
Considering ideas of excursion, recreation and site specificity, the works in HA-HA were developed in response to the context of the Lorry Driver's Lounge and surrounding area.

The exhibition title takes it's name from a trench that acts as a concealed barrier in a composed, idealised landscape. The etymology of this term is
believed to have come from the imagined exclamation of surprise illicited (“ha!ha!”) by an encounter with one. Without the visual obstruction
of a fence or wall the scene appears uninterrupted, allowing the eyes to ‘sweep’ over the view.
